GMC - Rodent damage to soy-based wire coatings

Issue Status: Discussion

Material chosen for wire coatings is unsuitable for the intended purpose. Damage cause due to improper material selection should be covered by GMC. This cost me $1600+ on my first new truck, a 2016 2500HD. I have had GMC/Chevy trucks since I was 16 and was excited to have my first NEW one. Now I'm concerned about the reliability of the vehicle. I tow alone and long distances. I go camping. Is it going to leave me stranded? Is GMC going to say not to park my TRUCK in a field? Or a forest? I have a case # with GMC corporate but have been playing phone tag for about 2 weeks. My service adviser said he sees this issue a lot and laughed when I told him I contacted corporate and said, 'good luck.'
