Antitrust Investigation of Manufacturers of Refrigerant Compressor Products

An antitrust investigation has been commenced involving a possible conspiracy among certain refrigerant compressor products manufacturers. The investigation focuses on whether the purchasers of the refrigerant compressor products paid artificially inflated prices to the following manufacturers: Tecumseh Products Co.; Whirlpool Corp. and its subsidiary Whirlpool S.A.; Embraco North America, Inc.; Danfoss A/S; Appliances Components Companies SpA; ACC USA, LLC; and Panasonic Corp. The investigation explores whether these manufacturers engaged in the manipulation of prices by conspiring to fix, raise, maintain and/or stabilize the prices of, restrict capacity of, and/or allocate markets for hermetically sealed refrigerant compressors sold since January 1, 1996.
